We are thrilled and incredibly proud to share a historic milestone for our community! The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has officially determined that Ukrainian Americans of New Mexico Inc. is exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3).
Our official status is classified as a Public Charity, effective retroactively to June 4, 2026.
What This Means For Our Community
This official recognition opens up immense opportunities for our organization to scale our mission, support our community, and preserve Ukrainian culture in New Mexico.
- Tax-Deductible Donations: All financial contributions, donations, and gifts made to UANM are now fully tax-deductible for donors under IRC Section 170.
- Corporate & Foundation Grants: As a registered public charity, we are now eligible to apply for private foundation grants, corporate matching programs, and government funding that were previously out of reach.
- Legacy Giving: UANM is now officially qualified to receive tax-deductible bequests, devises, transfers, or gifts under Sections 2055, 2106, or 2522.
